2006 Highlights

Designed and installed garden at the entrance of Manhattan's Hudson River Park's Pier 84 -
West 44th Street over the Hudson River.


2007 Highlights
Invited to join Manitoga -The Russel Wright Design Center's Woodland Landscape Council; Putnam County Farm Tours (2007);  PARC Secret Garden Tour, Hudson Highland Land Trust Sustainability Conference,  Cold Spring Farmer's Market book signings (Merritt Bookstore and  Local Yokels); researched and launched "History Rode" - an anti-litter and wildflower planting on dirt road in Garrison, NY. 

Constitution Island Association - invited to speak at gardeners' luncheon at Boscobel, researched archives in West Point, created a PowerPoint presentation highlighting Anna B. Warner's garden wisdom, created two awards and designed certificates, desktop published ads for paper, and ran successful 4th Annual garden event, presented with a Warner House print. Addressed Town Board that declared July 26th as Philipstown Garden Day. Researched and designed historical reconstruction (structures, garden beds, and plantings) of Anna's 1861-73 vegetable garden, wrote and won Entergy grant to build and maintain it. Although initially approved, the project was cancelled by the new Association's Board of Directors.
 
2008 Highlights
Offered "Whole Space Design" classes and private sessions at Many Light Hands, Cold Spring. 

Designed Entrance Meadow of Manitoga
May 17th - Researched, selected, designed, and obtained donations to remove invasive plants and install native plants with Mahopec High School Biology Club members. 

Secret Garden Tour - benefit for PARC.
Tarn, the name of my home, was a featured garden on the June 14th tour.

Garden Day: Anna's Secrets Revealed - Constitution Island, July 26th - Chair. Organized and hosted a successful event that included a book launch, lectures, tours, boat rides, and awards.

Designed and installed Manhattan garden, sculpture, seating, pergolas, and founatin for the International Social Justice Center - Salvation Army. Dedication on August 26th.


2009 Highlights

London Gardening Immersion
A week in March of gardening tours, talks, walks, museums, and special visits including The Chelsea Physic Garden, The Garden Museum, and research in Westminster Abbey's library and The Royal Horticultural Society library.

Putnam County Secret Garden Tour, Cold Spring Farmer’s Market
"The focus is on gardening with deer and Barbara will personalize your copy of her book, Garden Your City & offer solutions to your gardening dilemmas. Her property, Tarn Farm, was on last year’s Hudson Valley Magazine's Best of Garden Tours - over 300 visitors and all to benefit PARC."
